If you’re anything like us, January brings excitement for the upcoming bustle of live events that we’ve been tuning into for years. Beyond the obvious excitement that settles in, it brings about feelings of nostalgia, community and tradition.

As global celebrations, major sporting events and award shows — like the Golden Globes this past weekend — have begun their shift into the digital age and adapt to current needs, more and more of these renowned live experiences are supporting online streaming formats.

With today’s streaming services, combined with the recording power of Applian software, you can get ahead of every one of these major live events happening in 2016 and capture them forever!

Before the Democrats have their fun, however, FOX Business Network is set to live stream the Republican Debate this week on January 14. Neil Cavuto and Maria Bartiromo will be moderating this debate live from the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center.

No matter whose side you’re on, you can use Replay Video Capture to record the entire event directly from the PBS live stream.

With the new year comes new Netflix streaming options to keep you cozy on those chilly winter nights. Prepare yourself for the flurry of new arrivals, and many new original series, set to hit the laptop screen this year with Replay Video Capture!

Like all good (and new) things, they don’t last forever. Be sure to set up a time to record with your Replay Video Capture software, and have all of the streaming control you want with these flicks, even after they’re gone. Here are some of our favorites now available (or available soon) on Netflix:

Chelsea Does

Get ready to get real and laugh out loud. Late night host and comedian Chelsea Handler is turning documentarian for this Netflix Original series. The new show will explore several hot topics and the facts around them, including Silicon Valley, marriage, racism, and drugs.

Parks & Recreation

Make some waffles and buy some whipped cream – the final season of the hilarious Parks & Recreation is coming mid-January! We’re going to miss all of the hijinks in Pawnee, Indiana, but can’t wait to capture the last episodes forever with RVC.

Across the Universe

Everyone’s favorite trippy, Beatles-inspired film from 2007 is coming soon to Netflix. With classic pop songs re-imagined and an incredibly charismatic cast, this is a flick you’ll have to capture to watch again and again.

Fuller House

THE TANNER’S ARE BACK. Though the Olsen twins won’t be joining the show, the majority of the original Full House cast signed on for this Netflix Original spin-off, Fuller House, set in the same beautiful house in San Francisco.

The Ranch

In a reunion no one could anticipate, Ashton Kutcher and That ’70s Show costar Danny Masterson team up for this Netflix Original comedy set out in the country. The two play brothers taking over the family ranching business from their father. And hilarity is sure to ensue.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Not much information has been released yet about this upcoming Netflix Original series, but we have high hopes for the show based on the Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events book series. It’s doubtful that Jim Carrey will be involved in this one, but we can hope.

The Frontier

We’re pretty excited to see Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa on a regular basis in the upcoming adventure-drama, The Frontier. Momoa stars in this original series that centers around a group of fur traders, and their bloody business conflicts in the 18th century.

An Affair to Remember

Lust, fear, and a missed connection at the Empire State Building. Gather up your fuzzy blanket and box of tissues – the classic 1957 tear-jerking love story An Affair to Remember comes to Netflix early this year.

Marvel’s Luke Cage

If you binge-watched Jessica Jones like we did, you’ll already have been introduced to the next Netflix Original / Marvel mashup, Luke Cage. Mike Colter stars in the upcoming series, where action and adrenaline are sure to be experienced in droves.

Star Trek

Nerds and nostalgia, rejoice! A handful of original Start Trek movies will be available to stream (and record) soon. The full lineup of additions includes: Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986); Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991); Star Trek: Generations (1994); and Star Trek: Insurrection (1998).

Video of the Month: How to Wrap a Cat for Christmas

We spend a lot of time analyzing debug logs and frequently give customers a quick 2 minute video to test, which means we’re often in search of short clips that end play a vital role in the data logging process. Needless to say, we watch videos (and other types of media) and want to share them with you!

With the holidays looming over our shoulder at every turn and the endless list of gifts to be gifted, we started swapping stories about the most ridiculous things we’ve ever had to wrap up.

Coffee mugs can be tricky, and broomsticks nearly impossible, but none of us have ever tried gift-wrapping a cat before!

So hilarious. So cute.
