What Are We Looking Forward To?

A Clockwork Orange

A Clockwork Orange is a 1971 dystopian crime movie, based on Anthony Burgess’s novel of the same name. The book was incredibly controversial at the time of publishing, and the movie also ruffled many feathers when it hit theaters. The story is set in an England of the future, where Alex and his “Droogs” spend their nights getting high at the local Korova Milkbar before taking part in “a little of the old ultraviolence”. After being jailed for bludgeoning the Cat Lady to death, Alex submits to behavior modification therapy to win back his freedom. He’s conditioned to abhor violence, returning to the world defenseless, and in a turn of events, becoming the victim of his prior victims.

Dawson’s Creek: Seasons 1-6

Dawson’s Creek is sure to ignite 90’s nostalgia amongst those of us who grew up or regularly tuned into the show. Netflix will be releasing all six seasons, giving us the opportunity to once again tune into this teen drama that follows the lives of a close-knit group of friends in Cape Cod — Dawson, Jen, Joey and Pacey. Love triangles, broken promises and teen angst always make for an entertaining Netflix night in.

American Horror Story: 1984

American Horror Story: 1984 is the incredibly highly anticipated ninth season of the American Horror Story series, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. It premiered on September 13, 2019 and concluded in November 2019. Fans and critics alike have described the season as being heavily influenced by classic horror films such as Friday the 13th and Halloween. The ninth season sees many returning cast members from previous seasons, such as Emma Roberts, Billie Gourd and Leslie Grossmann — you won’t want to miss it!

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

One family-friendly flick you will definitely want to tune into this November is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. After finally being recognized for his genius by his idol Chester V, inventor Flint Lockwood is fortunate to join Chester’s company, where he works full-time on technologies to help mankind. However, Flint soon discovers that his widely-recognized and revered machine, which turns water into food, is still operating but now instead creating animal/vegetable hybrids! The fate of humanity is in Flint’s hands — and him and his friends must set out to save the world from tacodiles, shrimpanzees and other creatures before it’s too late.

V for Vendetta

Following world war, V for Vendetta finds London in a police state, occupied by a fascist government. A vigilante, known only as V (Hugo Weaving) employs terrorist tactics to fight the oppressors of the world in which he finds himself. When V saves a young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) from the secret police, he discovers he has an ally in his fight against England’s oppressors, right under his nose.
