The Best Podcasts for Photography Lovers & Creatives

Photography is an art form, a thoughtful process, and way to focus your creative energy as well as preserve memories. Though it may seem counterintuitive at first to listen to a podcast on such a visual subject, photography podcasts are an amazing outlet for budding (and more seasoned) photographers to learn and develop their craft, as well as keep up with new photo trends.

As lovers of both, we put together a shortlist of our favorite photography podcasts — you can record and save them all using Replay Radio, and listen to them anywhere on-the-go, armed with your best photography gear.

2. The Candid Frame

The Candid Frame is a weekly podcast hosted by photographer, former technical engineer for Nikon, and associate editor for an array of photography magazines – Ibarionex Perello. The podcast is dedicated to conversing with world renowned photographers and learning more from there techniques.

How to Download & Archive Your Favorite Podcasts

podcasts_

Podcasts have become a fundamental part of media entertainment over the last few decades — slowly picking up popularity since “audio-blogging” was introduced in the 1980’s. Flash forward to today where practically everyone has listened to a podcast, and monthly podcast listenership has increased 75% since 2013, where hundreds of thousands of podcasts exist around the digital world that cover every topic and idea you could possibly think of.

For those new to the scene, or those who are seasoned listeners, it’s (luckily) simple enough to download and archive podcasts to listen to anywhere, on any device.

Downloading Podcasts Online

There are any number of sites and services available online that host podcasts. Here’s how to download podcasts from every one of them…

Online Radio

Whether you like iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Stitcher, Podomatic, or any other online audio-hosting site, Replay Radio can download podcasts from them all. Record a bunch of podcasts simultaneously, convert to MP3 files, transfer them to your mobile devices, and automatically schedule audio recordings to never miss a thing. With a powerful built-in media guide, you can even search for and download great podcasts without leaving the software!

iTunes & SoundCloud

Two popular music hosting platforms today, iTunes and Soundcloud, are also good resources for finding awesome podcasts (and, of course, a lot of other great media). Using Replay Music, it’s easy to capture full podcasts and other audio from iTunes and Soundcloud, and turn every recording into an easy-to-digest MP3 file. Plus, Replay Music also identifies and tags recorded audio with the correct metadata, so everything is added to your collection seamlessly.

Archive.org

Archive.org is a surprisingly popular platform for great podcasts, and is free to use for publishers. While it’s well-known for its video-recording capabilities, listeners can also use Replay Media Catcher to download any available podcast from Archive.org — the software even has a tool to automatically schedule podcasts to be downloaded! Just launch it, visit the page on Archive.org with the podcast you want, and any audio playing on your computer will be captured perfectly.

Archiving Your Podcasts

During the download process, Replay Radio, Replay Music and Replay Media Catcher are all set to automatically locate and modify the correct set of information for your podcasts. What this means is that every piece of metadata is added to your MP3 files for you, so that everything can be easily organized exactly the way you want it.

With podcast show titles, speakers, series descriptions and other key details at-the-ready, your downloaded podcasts are already prepared to be imported into iTunes, Google Play, or any other system you choose to use.
