3 Steps to Save (Almost) Any Movie on Your Smartphone

Watch Movies Anywhere

Raise your hand if you’ve been stuck in transit – on your daily commute, long flight, or back seat of the car – and feeling completely bored.

For folks who enjoy a little video entertainment, it can be super tempting to start watching something on your favorite app or service. In fact, a recent study from eMarketer determined that “the average time consumers spend on their mobile devices has increased by nearly a minute per day over the past four years, while the amount of time they spend watching traditional television sets has dropped by more than 30 seconds in the same time period.”

Streaming movies on-the-go isn’t exactly the ideal situation for your (likely) strapped data plan, though. And, while many sites and services now offer the ability to download some very select content to watch offline on your smartphone, the limitations behind WHAT you can actively download and WHERE you can save the file beyond your phone can make things difficult.

Lucky for movie lovers, there’s an easy way to record high-quality movie files from online sources in ANY format needed, so you can save on any mobile device – from your smartphones to your tablets. Replay Video Capture is the only tool out there that can do just that. With powerful software that can track, capture, and save your favorite videos as they play online, you can save movies to your smartphone (or any other mobile device) from places like:

  • Netflix
  • Hulu
  • Amazon Video
  • NBC
  • Comedy Central
  • ABC
  • and many, many more

This means that you can later watch it anywhere and anytime, as often as you wish. No continuous Internet connection is required to watch the movie, once its file has been downloaded and saved!

How to Record & Save Movies in 3 Steps

With Replay Video Capture, it takes just a few quick to-dos to go from incredibly bored to constantly entertained – no matter which mobile device you’re using. Here’s the step-by-step for how to record movies online to save them to your smartphone, tablet, or other mobile devices.

Step 1

Download Replay Video Capture, open the software and start playing the movie on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, NBC, Comedy Central, and just about any other streaming media site that you want to save from.

Step 2

Click Get Video in Replay Video Capture and the software automatically finds and marks the video area on your screen.

In the example below, you’ll see how it works on a YouTube video…

Step 3

Replay Video Capture will start recording and saving your movies!

Here’s how it’ll look as you’re capturing from Netflix…

netflix download movies

With the ability to produce incredibly high-quality video recordings without freezing up your computer, and a powerful background recording mode that lets you capture while you’re doing something else online, it’s the perfect tool for recording and saving movies to your smartphone without being disruptive. After using Replay Video Capture to save movies, TV shows, and other awesome video content available online, you’ll never have to worry about being exclusively offline or without Internet again!

Good to note: The digital file associated with a movie requires storage space on the device you’re using. The file size will depend on the resolution of the movie, as well as its length. Plan to allocate between 2GB and 3GB of storage space for each Standard HD resolution movie, and upwards of between 4GB and 6GB for a 1080p or 4K resolution version of a movie.

Replay Video Capture is also a master for recording…

  • Video games and live streams
  • Webinars and conference calls
  • Skype and video messengers
  • Streaming web cams
  • Presentations and documents

A brand new Netflix original, B: The Beginning is a 10-episode anime production that follows genius investigator Keith Flick as he rejoins the royal police force. As he’s settling in, a serial killer referred to as “B” emerges and becomes an immediate threat. For fans of anime and animated series, this one is as suspenseful as it is creative and beautifully done.

Jessica Jones (Season 2) – March 8

In the Marvel world, there is no shortage of kick-butt heroes and Jessica Jones is one of them. Following the end of her short-lived career as a superhero in NYC, the show focuses on Jessica Jones as she tries to rebuild her life as a private investigator. As part of the Marvel universe as it exists on Netflix today, we’re loving how the storylines and character development of one show can bleed into another so easily. If you’re a fan of Luke Cage, you’ll definitely want to check this one out if you haven’t already.

Ladies First is a classic, true tale of bravery and bringing yourself up from nothing. Deepika Kumari was born into poverty and very limited women’s rights in India. Through the doubts of many, she was able to become the fifth-ranked athlete in the world in women’s archery and a gold medal winner at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. This documentary follows her childhood, training, and eventual win that made her famous around the world.

Love (Season 3) – March 9

Their relationship might not be considered “conventional,” but in the modern world, who really knows what makes the perfect couple? Judd Apatow’s quirky take on a romantic comedy, Love, is wrapping up with its final season (3). The comedic series has been described as having a “down-to-earth look at dating” that explores different perspectives on romantic relationships. With some squirmy moments and some “awww” moments, it’s definitely a charmer.

On My Block – March 16

Growing up is hard enough without being in Los Angeles. On My Block is a new Netflix Original comedy series that follows the coming-of-age take of four friends as they navigate life in inner-city LA. Practical Magic

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman star as two close sisters who get into a little trouble with the law, along with some other spooky, yet comical, situations — oh, and their whole family is full of magical witches.

The Babadook

(GIF via mattmurdocky.tumblr.com)

A widowed mother, a fearful son, a creepy illustrated book… it’s already the perfect setup for a horror movie. This independent film boasts a gripping storyline and seriously scary effects that’ll have you wanting a night light.

Goosebumps

(GIF via nerdist.com)

Everyone’s favorite childhood book series is finally a movie. With Jack Black playing host in this slightly-spooky-mostly-funny version of R.L. Stine’s literary masterpieces, the nostalgia and Halloween feels will overwhelm you.

The Fly

(GIF via candarian-demon.tumblr.com)

Old, dramatic cult movies are sometimes the absolute best for Halloween. What happens when you cross a poorly tested teleportation machine with a fly and a human? Well, we’re not going to tell you if you haven’t seen it.

Extraordinary Tales

(GIF via gkidsfilms.tumblr.com)

Guillermo del Toro directs this beautifully animated, super obscure film you need to see. The movie follows 5 classic, genuinely scary Edgar Allen Poe stories narrated by horror icons like Bella Lugosi and Christopher Lee.

Addams Family Values

(GIF via tumblr.com)

Addams Family Values is a perennial Halloween treasure – they’re everyone’s favorite smacabre family. It’s supernatural, it’s dark, it’s hilarious, and we can’t wait to watch it again and again, even after the spooky season ends.

Underworld

(GIF via www.youtube.com)

Have you ever called a vampire movie stylish or sleek before? Kate Beckinsale stars as a vampire warrior, caught in a war with the werewolf race. We love this film for its visually striking detail and action sequences.

Sweeney Todd

(GIF via ifcainwillbeavengedsevenfold.tumblr.com)

It’s a musical and a slasher flick all rolled up into one expertly-cast and directed film. Starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and other stars, and directed by Tim Burton, it’s a bloody, addictive Halloween favorite.

With divorce on the horizon, Margaret Keane finally reveals the truth. You can capture Big Eyes on Netflix, available October 25.

Whether you’re into summer nights, summer lovin’ or just some summer fun, Grease is an award-winning movie/musical hybrid that everyone loves. If you were cool in the 1990’s, you probably know everything about The Sandlot. This quintessential friendship-meets-baseball-meets-debauchery movie has touched hearts and cracked smiles for years. Before this one gets away, take a second to enjoy and record.

3. Wet Hot American Summer

(GIF via newpenzance.tumblr.com)

Wet Hot American Summer is a completely bonkers summer camp movie starring a hefty group of big-name comedy geniuses; Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper and more. While it will always be hilarious, it won’t always be around – be sure to download from Netflix before it disappears.

4. American Graffiti

(GIF via muppetmolly.tumblr.com)

George Lucas’ classic film, American Graffitistars the likes of Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss and Harrison Ford. Following one day of teenage adventure in the “rock-and-roll culture” era, it was even deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” enough for federal preservation in the National Film Registry.

5. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

(GIF via keldeldel.tumblr.com)

Nothing says summer like adventures around the world and spending quality time with your best friends. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a warm and uplifting, yet sometimes dramatic, journey of friendship (and pants). No matter your age or state-of-mind, this is a feel-good movie you’ll want to record before it leaves Netflix.

6. Adventureland

(GIF via 65-amc.tumblr.com)

Starring the king of awkward himself (Jesse Eisenberg), this flick is the ultimate ode to any summer job you ever got stuck with in high school/college. Adventureland is a friendly, coming-of-age type of comedy that certainly won’t last on Netflix forever.

Fuller House

THE TANNER’S ARE BACK. Though the Olsen twins won’t be joining the show, the majority of the original Full House cast signed on for this Netflix Original spin-off, Fuller House, set in the same beautiful house in San Francisco.

giphy-9

In a reunion no one could anticipate, Ashton Kutcher and That ’70s Show costar Danny Masterson team up for this Netflix Original comedy set out in the country. The two play brothers taking over the family ranching business from their father. And hilarity is sure to ensue.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Not much information has been released yet about this upcoming Netflix Original series, but we have high hopes for the show based on the Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events book series. It’s doubtful that Jim Carrey will be involved in this one, but we can hope.

giphy-12

The Frontier

We’re pretty excited to see Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa on a regular basis in the upcoming adventure-drama, The Frontier. Momoa stars in this original series that centers around a group of fur traders, and their bloody business conflicts in the 18th century.
