Nowadays, the holidays can feel like a time of stress rather than a time of festivities − whether from the gift-buying rush, surviving family get-togethers, or paying off those rising bills. But once upon a time, back in those childhood days, it really was the most magical time of the year. Unfortunately, you can’t travel back in time…. But you can hit record and rewind. Here’s our favorite list of movies to watch and record throughout the holiday season.
A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
A ruckus was created earlier in the year when it was announced that none of the Charlie Brown holiday specials would be airing on network television, after ABC pulled the plug on a 55-year streak. But where there’s a network void, there’s a streaming network ready to bridge the gap. Apple+ pledged to to fulfill Snoopy deprivation by making each holiday special available for free, even to non-subscribers, on limited days. So all the Peanuts holiday specials are at the top of our watch and record holiday movie list.
Gen Z-ers only seem to vaguely know who the Muppets are but for Millennials and Generation X, they were everything. Literally, they did everything from take Manhattan, live in Space, and in The Muppet Christmas Carol, recreate Dickens’ classic. It holds up, seriously. Press record and watch it again to see.
A Christmas Story should not make this list as TBS’ 24 hour tradition of airing the movie continuously makes it sort of unnecessary, yet, it still does because even with a 24 hour airing, we know opening presents, sledding, cooking holiday dinner, etc. might have you missing major scenes. And no one wants to miss their favorite from this classic, whether it’s electric sex from the leg lamp in the window, or when Ralphie finally does shoot his eye out!
Ok, while Love, Actually isn’t as childlike as our other selections, it was released a full 17 years ago! For everyone who was still a teen or tween when this movie came out, it gave you high hopes for what Christmas could be like when falling in love as a grown up. Love, Actually was so universally well received, it’s now a modern classic and maybe remains the heavyweight champion in holiday rom-coms.
How can you make your holidays better? By making sure you don’t miss out on your old holiday favorites that make you feel like a kid again. Our Replay Capture Suite can record streaming channels to ensure that you won’t miss a scene. It’s everything you need to record radio, save music as MP3 files, download video, and convert and edit your recorded files. Try it free, today!

Smith and Pocahontas fall in love, to the strong disapproval of both the Native Americans and British. As a result, Smith is sent away and reported dead. A heartbroken Pocahontas marries Rolfe, but when Smith turns up alive, she is torn between the two men.
Many of us can relate to Meet the Parents — after all, holidays are often a perfect opportunity to meet the family of a significant other. With a reported 2 billion users worldwide, there’s no surprise that YouTube is one of the hottest spots to build a brand, share content, and make some serious cash. But with so many content creators out there, how can you make your YouTube channel stand out from the crowd? While there’s no magic formula to success, there are plenty of simple tips and tricks you can employ to set yourself up for a thriving YouTube channel. Read on to find out more…
If you’re starting out from scratch, think about what you want to do with your channel. Firstly, who are you going to target? How are you going to appeal to them? The more targeted your content is, the more it will speak to these viewers. Then, consider what type of content you are going to be posting… Will your videos include tutorials, product reviews, or vlogs of your day-to-day life? How can you engage your viewers − are you going to be educating them, or entertaining them? Answering all of these questions will be your first step to building a successful channel.
Establish your personal brand. All great brands have an identity, so your YouTube channel will need one too. When considering your visuals and audio, what style do you want your channel to adopt? What topics do you want to focus on? No matter what you do, don’t forget to convey your personality. There is only one of you in the world, so make your channel stand out by being yourself, whether that’s opening up in a personal vlog, or sharing a bit of who you are in a tutorial or product demo.
Work hard to develop quality content. Think about investing in some dedicated equipment such as lights, a quality camera or microphone. Once you’re up and running, produce effective videos by keeping them as short and sweet as possible. We’re living in the attention economy, where creators and brands are competing fiercely for audiences’ attention. It’s crucial that you keep your videos direct so that your viewers don’t click away. Keep opening credits and titles short, and get to the main section of your video as quickly as you can. If you tend to pause or hesitate as you speak, you can edit out these distractions with a handy tool like Replay Media Splitter. While longer videos will improve your watch time − which will boost your content in the algorithm − don’t be tempted to create filler content. Make sure that every second is providing value to the person watching.
Let your viewers know what to expect. Be consistent in your subject matter, and consistent in the timing and frequency of new posts. Posting familiar content on a regular basis like this will help you to build up your audience. If sticking to a schedule sounds challenging, try to build up a backlog of content so that you’ll always have something to post, even when life outside of YouTube gets in the way. Finally, think about developing your videos as part of a series to get viewers hooked on your content, and waiting eagerly for the next instalment.
Remember − “Like, subscribe and share!” Promotion is key. At the end of your video, add links to your other popular videos, and remind the viewer to subscribe to your channel and opt-in to notifications. Ask them to like the video and comment too − this engagement will work wonders for your position in the ranks. To go the extra mile, collaborate with other YouTubers by featuring in their videos, or inviting them to appear in yours. With this, you can cross-promote and share followers between you. It’s a win-win.
Check out your analytics. From your Creator Studio, you can compare the performance of your videos and work out which is resonating best with your audience. To give your videos a boost, try employing SEO techniques, such as by including keywords in your video titles and writing detailed descriptions. While this can be a little more time-consuming, it’s definitely worth your while.
Of course, it goes without saying that the success of your YouTube channel will also rely on the quality of the video itself. When you need to edit your videos to be the best they can be, look no further than Replay Capture Suite for everything you need to make stunning, engaging content.
With seven incredibly useful programs for Mac and Windows, you’ve got everything you need to split and join files, encrypt and protect your work, download video and audio, record your screen and much, much more. Plus, with our free demo, you can try all seven incredible tools with no strings attached! So, what are you waiting for? In the movie, Rev. Moore is prosecuted for the wrongful death of a girl believed to be demonically possessed, because he administered the church-sanctioned exorcism that ultimately killed her. Watch as prosecuting attorney Ethan Thomas fights to prove that Emily actually suffered from schizophrenia and should have been medically diagnosed, while the defense maintains Emily’s condition cannot be explained by science alone.

When the unbearable Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Jones), and their teen daughter (Winona Ryder) buy the home, the Maitlands unsuccessfully attempt to scare them away. Instead, their efforts attract Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), a rowdy spirit whose “help” quickly spells trouble for the Maitlands and Lydia.

Bright colors and warm spirits, Jack gets a new lease on life, and plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the job. Jack soon discovers though, that even the best-laid plans don’t always turn out…
This 2003 remake of the horror classic follows a group of young travelers who come across an isolated rural home while driving through Texas on their way back from Mexico. Unfortunately for them, the dilapidated house is actually the residence of a family of twisted backwoods killers, most notably a merciless, masked man known as Leatherface, who begins to hunt the stranded youths down. Whether any of the friends will survive their nightmare is yet to be determined…

Recently, global travel restrictions have made it difficult for many of us to travel outside of the United States. With the majority of people no longer working in a physical office and unlikely to return to one in the near future, the itch to travel is even greater. The flexibility of remote work only amplifies this desire, as all you really need for your virtual office is a computer, phone, good internet connection, and the latest version of Replay Capture Suite.
Photo and video editing experts Fix the Photo recommend Replay Capture Suite and its impressive suite of programs to capture any online video and audio. In response to the shift to remote work, a number of countries have made digital nomad visas available to foreigners — in the case of six countries, U.S. nationals are also eligible to apply. For those of us seeking a change of scenery, these are the six countries that you can move your virtual office to right now.
Antigua and Barbuda
Digital nomads earning at least $50,000 annually can live and work on the islands of Antigua and Barbuda for up to two years, thanks to the country’s Nomad Digital Residence Program. At the time of writing the cost to apply is $1,500 for a single applicant, $2,000 for a couple and $3,000 for a family of three or more.
To enter the country, visa holders must present a negative coronavirus test within one week of arrival, and are monitored for any symptoms for up to 14 days.
As part of Aruba’s recently announced One Happy Workation program, U.S. visitors can stay up to 90 days by booking a package-stay program at a participating hotel, villa or condominium. Applicants are not required to book a participating stay but the website includes many attractive options to choose from!
The Barbados Welcome Stamp program allows visitors earning at least $50,000 annually, including U.S. nationals, to stay on the island visa-free for up to one year. At the time of writing, the online application fee is $2,000 for individuals and $3,000 for families. Those traveling to Barbados for remote work or pleasure during the pandemic must follow new travel protocols.
U.S. nationals are able to travel to Jamaica, however the entry requirements vary depending on the state. Those who identify as business travelers will be given a coronavirus test upon entry into the country. While most travelers are given a 30-day visa on arrival, they can apply for the longer stay visa for digital nomads.
On August 1, the Republic of Estonia launched its digital nomad visa that allows foreigners to stay in Estonia for up to a year. Applicants must earn a gross monthly salary of at least 3,000 euros (about $3,530) for a remote job, which is an extension of Estonia’s e-Residency program for foreign entrepreneurs.
At the time of writing, U.S. nationals are not able to visit the country for tourism-related purposes, but they are allowed in for the purpose of work or study. On arrival, foreigners must self-quarantine for 14 days.
Lastly, on July 16 this tiny country bordering Russia and the Black Sea, announced a new program for foreigners to work remotely from the country. Applicants will be able to apply soon, and must provide proof of employment, as well as consent to self-quarantine for 14 days to be considered. As in the case of Estonia, U.S. Nationals are not able to enter Georgia for tourism, and must be granted a long-term visa of at least six months, traveling for business with a special permit or a spouse of a Georgian citizen.
While the “new normal” has made everyday pleasures like international travel difficult for many of us, select countries are beginning to open up their borders, particularly to digital nomads. If you have the flexibility and are already working outside of a physical office, consider one of the six countries mentioned above for a change of scenery.
With 7 programs to choose from, Replay Capture Suite has all you need to stay connected, improve your productivity and streamline your remote workflows. Grab your computer, suitcase and the latest version of Replay Capture Suite, and you’ll be well on your way to remote work bliss.
For the vast majority of users, online streaming is now the preferred method for viewing TV shows, movies, sports, and events, as well as listening to music. Research shows that streaming increased from 7% of the U.S. music market’s revenues in 2010 to a whopping 80% in 2019. The numbers also point to jaw-dropping growth in revenues from music streaming services by nearly 20% in 2019 to $8.8 billion, accounting for the largest share of the music industry revenues at 79.5%. Here, “streaming” refers to a range of services, including ad-supported services like Vevo and YouTube, ad-supported tiers of services like Spotify, streaming radio services like Pandora and SiriusXM, and premium subscription services like Spotify Premium, Amazon Music, and Apple Music.
Currently, the top three players in music streaming include YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music. YouTube Music saw a 980% growth in the number of active users between 2017 and 2019. The tech giant reports that more than one billion music fans use their services for streaming music, while their YouTube Music and YouTube Premium services currently boast a combined 20 million subscribers. At the end of March 2020, Spotify reported 286 million monthly active users (including paid and free), and current estimates suggest that Apple Music has around 80 million paying subscribers.
While we’ve drastically changed the way that we consume music thanks to music streaming, this global shift hasn’t been immune to controversy. We all remember Taylor Swift’s three-year boycott of Spotify and her feud with Apple Music over royalties. And more recently, there’s a growing camp in the music industry that cannot agree on a valid system of verifying streams to count them toward music ranking charts.
Music streaming services have vowed to work more closely with the music industry and artists. However, as the landscape inevitably continues to evolve, we can’t be certain that there won’t be more controversies in the future.
