Netflix is a popular subscription streaming service that brings a lot of exciting video content for its subscribers. It offers the biggest library of films and TV series and is equally popular among kids and adults. As some of the content on Netflix is exclusively for adults, the service provider recognizes its responsibility and offers parental control features to let families make the most of their Netflix experience. These features have been designed to ensure that children are protected from any content on the platform that is not age-appropriate for them.

The Moors Murders (2009)

When residents began to learn the fate of the missing children and teens, the whole country was held captive of their own disbelief. In a dramatized documentary that is sure to shock you, the events are retold in shocking detail. Not to be missed.

The Keepers (2017)

A grisly crime that should be enough to create its own series is only the beginning here. What looked initially like a bank heist gone wrong suddenly takes twists and turns as the plot thickens and involves more and more complex suspects. Was he a criminal or actually a hostage? Make sure to check out this limited series with an explosive payoff as the real mastermind is revealed.

Cropsey (2009)

Rats (2016)

Catch “Rats” on Netflix!

In a documentary that isn’t as much about crime as it is a macabre nightmarescape, this made the list because it is guaranteed to keep you up at night. Legendary documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock ventures into rat-infested areas around the world, investigating the horrifying origins of infestations as well as the dubious practices employed to rid the heaving swarms of vermin by any means necessary. In what has been called a “documentary horror film”, this isn’t for the faint of heart.

Popular Movies & Shows Leaving Netflix this Summer

Wedding Crashers (2005)

via GIPHY

Just in time for wedding season, this summer smash hit is loaded with some of your favorite comic giants. Before Bradley Cooper’s turn in “A Star is Born”, he was Luke Wilson’s douchey rival in this comedy classic for the ages. Vince Vaughn and Wilson are a hilarious duo that make a tradition of crashing weddings to have fun, meet women, and generally have a smashing great time. Their epic season takes a turn as they come face-to-face with Crashers Rule #22: “You have a wedding and a reception to seal the deal. Period. No overtime.” Will they uphold their reputation as the heart of the party? Or will they follow their hearts?

The Terminator (1984)

via GIPHY

In this multi-sequelled sci-fi hit, a cyborg assassin from the year 2029 is sent back to 1984 to kill the woman whose son will become the future savior of mankind. Humankind’s ultimate enemy? The cyborgs. In an effort to stop the assassination, soldier Kyle Reece is sent back in time to pursue the cyborg, and carry out one mission: Save Sarah Connor, by any means necessary. Catch this classic that spawned the epic quote “I’ll be back”, and launched Arnold Schwarzenegger into superstardom.

Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)

via GIPHY

In this magical and highly awarded film, director Alfonso Cuarón takes us into the world of Ofelia, a young girl living through the Spanish Civil War. Her life is uprooted after the death of her father, and her mother’s subsequent marriage to a cruel military officer. The film manages to cross over between the mysterious creatures of the labyrinth and the practical world in which she lives. The result is a visually stunning and enthralling movie that everyone will love.

The Matrix Trilogy: The Matrix (1999), The Matrix Reloaded (2003), Matrix Revolutions (2003)

via GIPHY

This mind-bender has become a modern classic for its use of special effects and its epic and allegorical story. In the first installment, we are introduced to Neo, a young man going through the motions of his unremarkable life, when he becomes embroiled in a mind-expanding adventure that has us all questioning the meaning of life as we know it.  Capture each part of the trilogy and save it to watch for when you have time to get lost in its many layers.

Cool Hand Luke (1967)

via GIPHY

No one does cool better than Paul Newman. Catch him in this classic that solidified him as an icon of American cinema. This movie introduces us to Luke, an ex-soldier who is sentenced to two years in a Florida prison. What makes this psychological prison drama a classic is Luke’s refusal to submit to an arbitrary system of power and punishment, and it asks the viewer to do the same.

Dumb and Dumber (1994)

via GIPHY

If a comedy is more your thing, be sure to catch Dumb and Dumber before it’s too late. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are timeless in this hit about two friends who take on an epic road trip in pursuit of the perfect girl that Carrey’s Lloyd has his eye on. Netflix is offering two Austin Powers flicks: The International Man of Mystery, and its sequel, The Spy Who Shagged Me. Don’t miss the chance to laugh out loud as Austin takes on his arch-nemesis Dr. Evil (also played by Myers), and a whole host of spy movie tropes that unravel under Myers’ satirical looking-glass.

Pretty Little Liars, Seasons 1-7 (2010-2017)

The only series on our list, Pretty Little Liars is the hit that launched quite a few careers. Set in a suburban Pennsylvania town, this hit show is based on the mystery surrounding the unraveling secrets of a group of friends. 5 Reasons to Always Download Netflix Movies

When it comes to the hottest movies, or your must-watch series, Netflix is king. It has changed the way we watch movies and our favorite shows at home, and doesn’t show any signs of slowing. Our viewing habits have changed in big ways thanks to Netflix, which through it’s new releases and groundbreaking blockbusters, is making it possible to watch loads of content nearly immediately.

But it isn’t perfect. If you want to stay on top of all of the best movies and quality series, you have to act fast, or you might risk losing your favorites forever. Thankfully, with Replay Video Capture, the power is back in your hands. You can download and save your favorites at anytime, to watch anytime, thanks to the software’s powerful technology.

Looking for some reasons to download your movies from Netflix? Here are a few of our biggest:

1. Outlast Netflix’s Rotating Catalog

Probably the number one reason to always download your Netflix favorites is because of what makes Netflix great… Their endlessly rotating catalog. Netflix is great at staying current and offering the freshest releases because of their incredibly narrow catalog and it’s pretty constant rotation. When you have Replay Video Capture, you really don’t have to worry about losing those movies in your queue that you’ve been dying to watch before they leave Netflix for good.

2. Create Your Own Personal Playlist of Amazing Movies

It’s hard to think of a better reason to download movies from Netflix than building your ultimate playlist of favorite movies. While traditionally, it was common to have a collection of pretty great DVDs, now most people are building a collection of their absolute favorite videos on a playlist. It’s fast, mobile, and now it doesn’t have to take up a ton of space to have your all-time favorites at your fingertips. Capturing your favorites from Netflix has really never been easier than with Replay Video Capture.

3. Watch Your Favorites While You Travel

Nothing beats finally taking an incredible vacation. There’s the infinite possibility of exploring somewhere new, coupled with the ability to get in some quality time with that highly-anticipated movie on your Netflix queue. But beyond reaching your dream destination, there are still lots of things to think about, especially if a long journey is involved. But nothing is more disappointing than finally reaching your destination only to find out that that coveted Netflix queue is actually not available in another area! With Replay Video Capture, you can download and save your favorites so you can watch your favorites while you are traveling by air, by train, or by sea.

4. Watch Your Favorites, No Wifi Required

Netflix is one of the best platforms for getting the freshest movies and series that come out. There is a whole catalog online for you curl up with on basically any day and watch for hours on end. The only thing better? Being able to watch your favorites without having to stay tethered to a Wifi connection or use up your phone’s precious data. With Replay Video Capture, you can download an unlimited amount of your favorites and watch them offline.

5. Keep Your Favorites Forever, Even After They Are Long Gone

Netflix isn’t just movies. It’s actually known for some of it’s incredible original shows. But just because you love it and want to keep watching it for years to come doesn’t mean that it will stay around. In fact, Netflix is known for cycling out obvious fan favorites in favor of bringing on new programs. It’s not a bad thing, especially if it means fresh series are on the horizon.

But if you have a favorite that gets cancelled, where does that leave you? Fortunately, with Replay Video Capture, you won’t get stuck with losing your favorite shows. Keep your favorite storylines alive for good by downloading and saving your favorites.

There’s no reason to lose track of your favorite movies and series. Netflix has a fast rotation, but you can be faster… Especially with Replay Video Capture behind you. You never have to miss a thing, and you can keep your favorites to watch over and over, no matter where you are. Ready to get started?

9 Powerful Hacks for the Ultimate Netflix Experience

Love kicking back for a relaxing night with Netflix? Us too. No matter how much time you spend watching, though, you’ll never be a real power user if you don’t poke around under the entertainment hood. We took the time to really dive in (so you don’t have to), and rounded up a collection of tricks will greatly improve your Netflix experience.

Here are our top tips to take your Netflix binges to the next level:

1. Switch to high quality

High quality is the best quality when you’re enjoying movies online. You can manually force HD playback on Netflix on your TV to ensure your media is always shown in the highest-quality possible. First, make sure that your internet connection supports streaming 5 megabits/second or more, then log in and go to Account Settings > Playback Settings to select high quality.

(Note: Chrome users won’t be able to use this trick – sorry!)

2. Stream off peak hours

This may seem a little more on the obvious side, but choosing to stream Netflix shows NOT during peak hours will always award you with better quality. When less people are using Netflix overall, it improves downstream data traffic and thus, your viewing experience.

3. Use your phone as a remote

Lost the remote in your couch cushions again? You can turn any smartphone into a remote control just by downloading the Netflix app for iPhone, Android or Windows Phone. Once installed and synced properly, you’ll be able to play, pause, stop and browse all from your connected device. Technology rules.

4. Create multiple profiles

We all have those guilty, yet amazing, pleasures we jump to when no one else is around to judge our viewing habits. Now you don’t have to hide when you create multiple profiles on Netflix! It’s free, easy to set up, and you’ll be able to generate a different profile for your chick flicks, horror movies, or anything else you may want to keep separate from your main account.

5. Say goodbye to buffering

Buffering movies and shows on your laptop can be a serious time-waster. To get rid of buffering in Netflix while playing a title, select Shift+Opt (Shift+Alt for Windows) and left click to open up a “hidden” menu called the Stream Manage. You’ll find buffering fixes, along with some other helpful tips!

(Note: For Chrome users, press Ctrl+Shift+Alt/Opt+S to access this menu.)

6. Find the best flicks

Reddit brings out the best (and sometimes worst) parts of the Internet. Use it to your advantage and head to r/netflixbestof to check out all of the best, most painstakingly-selected shows and movies to see so you never have to browse aimlessly again.

7. Record anything for later

Technology now allows us to record streaming movies and television shows from Netflix to watch forever, even after the site has taken them down. Using Replay Video Capture, you can screen record ANYTHING on Netflix in amazingly high-quality formats.

8. Enhance your viewing

Browser extensions are better than they’ve ever been. With one add-on in Chrome called Netflix Enhancements, you can instantly access IMDB profiles, movie trailers, pop-up ratings from sources like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes, and more. You can even customize what you see once it’s installed.

9. Utilize keyboard shortcuts

Because streaming TV shows and movies should be as efficient as any other kind of digital hacking, Netflix keyboard shortcuts exist to streamline your viewing:

  • Play/Pause – Space bar OR Enter key
  • Play – Page Up key
  • Pause – Page Down key
  • Enable Full screen – F key
  • Disable Full screen – Esc key
  • Rewind 10 seconds – Shift + Left Arrow
  • Fast Forward 10 seconds – Shift + Right Arrow
  • Volume Up/Down – Up Arrow/Down Arrow
  • Mute On/Off – M key
  • Toggle by frame – CTRL + Space bar

Save Your Media: Why Netflix Will Never Be Perfect

We love Netflix, but it isn’t a perfect streaming service. The truth is, it can’t be.

With growing competition, incomplete collections, and temporary trademarks on titles, Netflix’s shortcomings across a myriad of areas will likely hinder it from becoming the “all-powerful streaming service” we thought it might be just a few years ago. These limitations and imperfections are some of the many reasons why it’s important to record Netflix TV shows and movies with Replay Video Capture, and save them for offline viewing before they inevitably disappear.

Market Share

This chart below, created by Nielsen, shows the penetration of streaming services and subscription video on demand services. Netflix leads the pack of streaming online with over 61 million subscribers and 36% of the market, but Amazon and Hulu also take close to 20%.

And, research has shown that Amazon’s popularity and market share is only growing as the company gathers more customers through their Prime service,  gain more title contracts, and generate more original series.

Narrow Collection

At first glance, its impressive library of movies and shows, both original and licensed, seems never-ending. But, it does end. With only around 13,300 titles offered worldwide, Netflix’s collection is actually pretty limited in terms of selection. And, because of the ongoing rivalry between Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, it’s impossible to provide a truly complete catalog at all times and win over the entirety of the market.

Temporary Licensing

Part of this narrow collection is due to the structure and process of licensing content. Netflix is frequently changing up their online offerings; the reliability of their shows and movies are completely dependent on licensing agreements made with networks and filmmakers.

According to Investopedia, these agreements could “allow Netflix to stream all seasons of [a] show in full through its online platform for one, three or five years. The licensing agreement can be renegotiated after the set time period ends, or Netflix could drop the show from its library if viewer interest is not high enough to warrant the cost.”

Essentially, Netflix can drop content on a whim. And what if that show or movie they deemed ‘not popular enough’ was your all-time favorite? Download Replay Video Capture to record and save all of your favorite Netflix content, before time is up!

It’s beautiful, heartbreakingly brilliant, and one of the most famous films ever released. You can capture Titanic on Netflix, available October 1.

With every new season carrying a new theme and over-arching plot line, while utilizing many of the same brilliant actors from story to story, Season 5 follows the inner workings and mysteries of the Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles, California. You can capture American Horror Story: Hotel on Netflix, available October 4.

The story of the Keanes is one of self-reflection for many artists, including director Tim Burton. Big Eyes is the story of artist Walter Keane as he passes his wife’s art off as his own, growing into unbelievable fame and fortune because of her shyness to express herself, and introduce herself, to the public. With divorce on the horizon, Margaret Keane finally reveals the truth. You can capture Big Eyes on Netflix, available October 25.

In its third installment, Po reunites with his long-lost dad (Bryan Cranston) and deals with the transition into teaching and training martial arts to his own group of silly pandas. Together, they’ll fight evil and look adorable doing it. You can capture Kung Fu Panda 3 on Netflix, available October 26.

Everyone’s favorite trippy, Beatles-inspired film from 2007 is coming soon to Netflix. With classic pop songs re-imagined and an incredibly charismatic cast, this is a flick you’ll have to capture to watch again and again.

The Ranch

In a reunion no one could anticipate, Ashton Kutcher and That ’70s Show costar Danny Masterson team up for this Netflix Original comedy set out in the country. The two play brothers taking over the family ranching business from their father. And hilarity is sure to ensue.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Not much information has been released yet about this upcoming Netflix Original series, but we have high hopes for the show based on the Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events book series. It’s doubtful that Jim Carrey will be involved in this one, but we can hope.

The Frontier

An Affair to Remember

Lust, fear, and a missed connection at the Empire State Building. Gather up your fuzzy blanket and box of tissues – the classic 1957 tear-jerking love story An Affair to Remember comes to Netflix early this year.
