Healthy & Hearty Black Bean Soup

If you’re looking for something a little more hearty than can serve as a meal on its own, try this soup recipe. Black beans are a great source of protein and fibre that will satisfy your hunger, and leave you feeling energized. After letting all the spices and flavors simmer to perfection, blend everything together for a smooth creamy texture. Yum!

Veggie Chili Cornbread Casserole

Cornbread and chili together? Sounds like a match made in heaven. This recipe combines everything we love about veggie chili — the variety of beans and vegetables that go into it, especially — by topping it off with some classic cornbread! This recipe is oh-so-hearty but we can bet you’ll still be wanting seconds.

Cheddar Corn Fritters

There’s no denying these cheddar corn fritters are an indulgence — heaps of cheddar and spoonfuls of corn combine to create the perfect treat. Fry them on the pan until crispy and top them off with a helping of sour cream.

Pumpkin Spice Biscotti

Kicking off the sweet side of things on our list is pumpkin spice biscotti. This recipe offers a fun spin on pumpkin. With the addition of pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, and the finishing touch of dipping in white chocolate, you’ll be wondering how you ever enjoyed a cup of coffee without this treat.

Classic Pecan Pie

We’re confident when you try out this recipe, it’ll remind you of home immediately. This is the classic pecan pie at Thanksgiving and countless fall season family gatherings. As with most pie recipes, you’ll need a bit of patience, but the end product is definitely worth it!

Old-Fashioned Pumpkin Pie

Since we’re already on the topic of pie, we may as well include a recipe for another family-favorite: pumpkin pie. In this video, Brendan Dahle shares his grandmother’s recipe (gasp!), and who knows, it may just remind you of your own grandmother’s baking!

Caramel Apple Crumble Cheesecake

Caramel and apple is another winning combination that we love for the fall season. So, why not try something new like this caramel apple crumble cheesecake. It takes everything we love about apple crumble and combines it with a rich cheesecake base.

Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

The smell of cinnamon coming from the kitchen is synonymous with fall! On that note, how do homemade cinnamon rolls sound? Soft cinnamon dough, smothered in icing is all that you need for a cozy night in. The thought of baking with yeast may intimidate you, but we promise this recipe will guide you every step of the way.

As the temperatures drop, snuggle up and get cosy with Amazon Prime Video’s unmissable British TV and cinema — full of rugged landscapes and chilly scenes that are sure to keep you feeling toasty and warm while you’re wrapped up inside. Plus, thanks to Replay Media Catcher, you can conveniently download every moment to watch offline, anywhere you want. So what are you waiting for? Grab that blanket, fire up Amazon Prime Video, and get started with some of these unmissable options from across the pond… ready to stream now.

Man vs. Wild

Drinking yak blood, eating a moose heart, and sleeping inside a camel… Think you could survive out in the wild? Maybe not… But you can watch all of Bear Grylls’ amazing wilderness feats from the safety of your sofa as he shows you how to survive when stranded in the world’s harshest environments. Brace yourself for edge-of-your-seat action in this series packed full of fascinating tips and stunning landscapes. It’s exhilarating, and educational, all at the same time.

Howards End

Expect beautiful costumes, very “proper” British accents and some incredible scenery in this TV adaptation of E.M. Forster’s Howards End. Follow the Schlegel sisters as they embark on their journey to seek love and meaning in a world that clashes with their independent and unconventional sensibilities. It’s a period drama that packs a punch, and will quickly have you hooked.

Blackadder

This timeless British comedy series has been a favorite for generations, and for good reason. The show follows the trials, and more often than not, failures of Edmund Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson), a plotting and scheming character looking to do whatever it takes to secure an easy-going life for himself. Each season finds Blackadder and his useless sidekick Baldrick in a different time period, with a different boss and different challenges, but the same old disappointing results. Also starring Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, Blackadder is an age-old, laugh-a-minute series that’s not to be missed.

Wuthering Heights

Nothing gets more British than a dark and stormy hillside, and Wuthering Heights is full of them. Starring Kaya Scodelario and directed by Andrea Arnold (of American Honey and Fish Tank), this is an exciting and fresh take on the classic novel by Emily Brontë. Get ready for brooding stares, wind-whipped landscapes and tension you could cut with a knife in this superb British adaptation of the all-time favorite book.

Under the Skin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoSWbyvdhHw&ab_channel=FTZ

If we ever needed a reminder not to accept a ride from a stranger, then this should do the trick. Under the Skin stars an English-accented Scarlett Johanssen as the creepy, murderous, van-driving alien (yep, you heard that right) who preys on the unsuspecting men of Glasgow — picking them up, and leaving them never to be seen again. With striking and shocking imagery from director Jonathan Glazer, this movie offers a mind-bending experience that leaves you tip-toeing between the unwaveringly mundane of drizzly Glasgow, and the fantasy of Johanssen’s otherworldly underworld. You’ll leave this movie full of questions, but that’s all part of the fun.

I, Daniel Blake

Directed by Ken Loach, this Cannes and BAFTA winner tells the story of a widowed carpenter and a single mother who form a formidable bond in their struggle against the complicated and unforgiving British welfare system. Chronicling the reality of daily life for many working-class Brits just struggling to get by, I, Daniel Blake treats its characters with warmth and humanity, when the system treats them as nothing more than a number. It’s a heartwrencher and an eye-opener that will be sure to stick with you.

Tolkien

Nicholas Hoult stars as J.R.R. Tolkien, the incredible author behind the The Lord of the Rings series, in this biopic that covers Tolkien’s early life, career at Oxford University, and the friendships and relationships that defined him. Directed by Dome Karukoski and also starring Lily Collins, it’s a beautifully-shot movie that also takes us up to the outbreak of the First World War and the life-changing events that would inspire his famous Middle-earth novels. This one’s a must-watch for movie-lovers and literature-enthusiasts alike.

King Lear

Acting heavyweights Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson and Emily Watson are unstoppable forces in this modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s King Lear. With the play (thankfully) cut down to a more manageable 2 hours, this is Shakespeare not as you know it: think martial arts, helicopters and British military uniforms, to name a few. Plus, with a star turn for Florence Pugh, there’s more than enough acting mastery for you to enjoy on screen. Don’t miss it.

So, now you know which British blockbusters to watch next on Amazon Prime Video, don’t forget that you can catch them all to watch again, anytime, anywhere, with Replay Media Catcher for PC and Mac. It’s the world’s most powerful, convenient online video downloader, capable of saving your content in just one click at up to 10x the playback speed! What Are We Looking Forward To?

A Knight’s Tale (2001)

If the Heath Ledger nostalgia has hit you, and you’re in the mood for a good chick flick, you’ll want to catch A Knight’s Tale. It’s the story of peasant-born William Thatcher (Heath Ledger) who wants to change his fate, believing that he is destined for greatness. He enlists in a jousting tournament, masquerading as a nobleman so that he can participate, and begins his quest to glory. In the process, he wins the heart of a fair maiden and challenges societal and class norms.

Jurassic Park (1993)

It’s a Spielberg science fiction classic that millions across the globe came to love. The first installment in the Jurassic Park franchise by Michael Crichton is set on the fictional island of Isla Nublar, near Costa Rica. The story follows businessman John Hammond and a team of genetic scientists who have created a wildlife park of de-extinct dinosaurs. Industrial sabotage eventually leads to a catastrophic shutdown of the park’s power facilities and Hammond’s children struggle to survive on the island, now controlled by the very species meant to be controlled.

Immigration Nation (Season 1)

Immigration Nation is a highly-anticipated, six-part series that gives us a rare inside look at the machinery of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The series covers the spring of 2017 to the winter of 2019, following changes to immigration policies implemented by the Trump Administration. Directed by Shaul Schwarz and Christina Clusiau, the series explores both sides of the debate over immigration in the U.S.

Les Misérables (2012)

There’s nothing like a good musical that pulls at the heartstrings. Based on Victor Hugo’s book, the Les Misérables story is set in the early 19th century and begins with Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), who after 19 years as a prisoner, is freed by Javert (Russell Crowe), the officer in charge of the prison workforce. After breaking parole to start a new life for himself, Javert vows to bring Valjean back to prison. Eight years later, Valjean meets Cosette and becomes her guardian after the death of Cosette’s mother. However, with Javert’s relentless pursuit, peace and quiet is far from reach.

Rising Phoenix (2020)

Featuring Paralympians from around the world, Rising Phoenix is a ground-breaking movie about the paralympic movement, and will premiere on Netflix all over the globe on August 26. The film release was planned to coincide with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, but it will now form an important part of the celebrations leading up to the Games in 2021. The film tells the fascinating story of the Paralympic Games beginning after the devastation of World War II, to the modern day Games as we know them, the third largest sporting event in the world. The Paralympic Games sparked a global movement that challenges each one of us to change the way we think about disability, diversity and human potential.

Our Top 3 Most Memorable NBA Games from the Start of the 2019-20 Season

On June 4, the NBA Board of Governors approved a competitive format to restart the 2019-20 season with 22 teams ready to return to play, with a tentative start date of Friday, July 31. While this is one of many formal steps required to resume the season, it looks like we’re on track to get our NBA basketball fix shortly!

In the meantime, the NBA is working to finalize its comprehensive season start plan, alongside the National Basketball Players Association. Both organizations are working and consulting closely with infectious disease specialists, health experts and government officials to ensure the health and safety of players and spectators alike.

The aim is to establish a rigorous program to prevent and mitigate the risk related to COVID-19, including a regular testing protocol and stringent safety practices. The season restart also relies heavily on an agreement with The Walt Disney Company to use the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, which would serve as a campus for all season games, practices and housing for the rest of the season.

Until July 31st rolls around, now is as good of a time as ever to dust off your copy of Replay Video Capture so that you’re ready to save all of your favorite games — you’ll never go hungry for basketball again! And, if you haven’t yet tried Replay Video Capture, get your copy now and you’ll be making production quality video recordings of the most memorable NBA moments in just a few clicks.

In the meantime, as NBA fans around the world await the restart of the 2019-20 season, we’re sharing our most memorable highlights from three noteworthy games from the start of the 2019-20 season to get you hyped up for what’s to come this summer.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors – January 22, 2020

The 76ers arrived in Toronto with a two-game winning streak while on the road. Philadelphia’s Josh Richardson would end up straining his hamstring early in the first quarter, unable to return to the court later on. Though the two teams were tied at half-time, it was the Raptors who came out on top with a 22-point lead over the 76ers, finishing with a final score of 107-95, with Vanleet leading the Raptors in points at 22, sinking an impressive six three-pointers out of 7 attempts.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Milwaukee Bucks – March 6, 2020

When the top teams from each of their respective conferences show up to the court, you know it’s going to be an exciting game. What could be more telling of that than Jay-Z’s looks of disbelief and delight in response to the Lakers’ performance, from where he sat courtside? Don’t be fooled though — the Bucks put up an impressive fight, and the teams were tied at 38 points at the half. In the end, Lebron James was unstoppable and completely dominated the game, coming out on top with 38 points and a whopping 8 assists!

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Clippers – November 18, 2019

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR9TjxhB5HM

Kawhi Lenoard’s absence on the court was very apparent during the Clippers’ matchup with Oklahoma City Thunder. Through most of the game, it seemed like the Clippers’ offense wasn’t doing much, but they tightened up on defense and squeaked by with a small win over the Thunder, whose roster includes a couple of former teammates.  Paul George succeeded in sinking a 3-pointer against his former team with just 25 seconds left in the fourth quarter, lifting Los Angeles over Oklahoma City with a very close 90-88 game.

Want to make sure you never go months without NBA action again? With Replay Video Capture, you can have peace of mind that you’ll be able to watch and capture all of your favorite moments. With production quality recordings at your fingertips in just a few easy steps, you’ll want to watch them over and over again. What Are We Looking Forward To?

Back to the Future (1985)

In this cult-favorite 1980s sci-fi classic, small-town California teen Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is transported back into the ’50s when an experiment by his scientist friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) doesn’t go exactly as planned. In his modified DeLorean car, Marty travels through time and encounters young versions of his parents. His mission becomes ensuring that they fall in love or he’ll cease to exist in the future. At the same time, Marty must return to his own time and save the life of Doc Brown. Catch this sure-fire family favorite that is loved by young and old alike!

Madam Secretary (Season 6)

The final season of the CBS political thriller, Madam Secretary, has arrived. Instead of the usual 23 episodes, the final series includes just 10 instalments and stars Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, a former CIA and political science professor turned Secretary of State. Each episode provides a closer look at the life and role of the Secretary of State and how they balance their work and personal life schedule. Following McCord’s announcement at the end of season 5 that she will run for President of the United States, will she be victorious? Catch the 6th season to find out!

Public Enemies (2009)

Set during the Great Depression, Public Enemies chronicles the final years of the career of notorious bank robber John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) as he is pursued by FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale). Despite his charm and audacity making him a well-liked figure amongst much of America’s downtrodden public, he’s got dues to pay. And, Purvis has been tasked with catching him and bringing him to the FBI, dead or alive.

Becoming (2020)

The much-anticipated film documents former First Lady Michelle Obama’s 34-city tour around the United States following the release of her bestselling memoir, which shares the same name as the documentary: Becoming. Based on what we can see from the trailer, the documentary will also delve into Obama’s past, including never-before-seen glimpses at her childhood and life before the White House. Obama lets us know that this documentary is “totally me, unplugged, for the first time”, and we can’t wait to dive in and watch it!

Sweet Magnolias (Season 1)

Sweet Magnolias is based on the Sweet Magnolias book series by Sherryl Woods. This tear-jerking family drama follows three South Carolina women who have been best friends since high school, as they juggle romantic relationships, career, and family. Be sure to bring your tissue-box for this one, as it’s sure to pull at the heartstrings. The show airs on May 19, and we’re counting down the days until we can catch a glimpse of this one.
